The growth of surveillance cameras has raised several issues and concerns in recent years. Some of the major problems include:

  1. Privacy: One of the biggest concerns is the violation of privacy rights. With the increased number of cameras in public places, there is a risk of capturing images of people without their knowledge or consent. This could lead to the misuse of personal information and invasion of privacy.
  2. Cybersecurity: The data captured by surveillance cameras are vulnerable to hacking and cyber-attacks, which could compromise personal information and put individuals at risk.

Overall, the growth of surveillance cameras requires careful consideration of the potential risks and benefits and effective regulation to ensure that individual rights and freedoms are protected.


Regulation could protect to a certain extent; however, giving power to the user would be the ultimate win. Users must be given the power to decide what data should be stored and what data must be deleted. They must have access to their data at all times. The world would be better if one could take charge of their data.
